Tim Burkill
Tim Burkill works full-time as the assistant pastor at Emmanuel Westbury and oversees the student ministry as well as helping with wider pastoral responsibilities.

Mike Cain
Mike heads up our training, plans for planting and partnerships with other churches in the city. He is our official link with the Diocese of Bristol. He also preaches and teaches across the family of churches.

Suzie Cameron
Suzie works full-time for Emmanuel Bishopston with a focus on managing the children’s ministry and co-ordinating pastoral care across the congregation. She is responsible for overseeing Safeguarding across Emmanuel Bristol.

Sam Chapple works for Emmanuel full-time, serving on the operations team as Buildings and Resources Manager.

Claire Darley
Claire works one day a week for Emmanuel Westbury, as a pastoral worker: seeking to equip women to love the Lord and love one another. Claire is also a practicing GP.

Lottie Grover
Lottie works full-time for Emmanuel. She is a member of the Emmanuel Westbury family but oversees youth ministry (11-18 year olds) across the Emmanuel family of churches.

Mike Harris
Mike is the full-time pastor of Emmanuel City Centre, alongside Ed Shaw. He serves in a number of areas including preaching and encouraging the church family in discipleship and evangelism.

Safeguarding Administrator
Rebecca Jemmett
Rebecca works 1.5 days a week as Emmanuel Bristol’s Central Safeguarding Administrator. She ensures the smooth administration of safeguarding procedures for our large number of volunteers. She supports a team of safeguarding volunteers who manage the completion of DBS checks and safeguarding training.

Jane is a member of Emmanuel City Centre and she works one day a week supporting the women at ECC in pastoral care.

Kit is part of Emmanuel City Centre. She works 2.5 days a week and is involved in pastoral care and enabling church family life through planning events and our Prayer & Praise meetings.
Operations and Compliance Manager
Alex Street
Alex works full-time as Operations and Compliance Manager, looking after aspects of buildings, lettings to external users, health and safety and assisting with finance operations. He also acts as Project Manager for Emmanuel-wide projects.

Simon Russell
Simon works one and a bit days a week for Living Out and the rest of his time as the director of operations for the Emmanuel Bristol family of churches. He oversees the shared logistics of our increasingly complex life together.
Intergenerational Ministry & Childrens Work
Lucy Russell
Lucy is part of the Emmanuel Westbury church family, where she works two days a week overseeing intergenerational ministry and children’s ministry from creche through to groups for primary school aged children.

Ed Shaw
Ed is the Ministry Director of Emmanuel Bristol. He leads our staff team and is responsible for ensuring that our people, relationships, communications and structures allow our churches to flourish. He also serves an elder and pastor for Emmanuel City Centre. The rest of his time is given to serving Living Out as their Ministry Director.

Ian works full-time as the pastor of Emmanuel Westbury. He spends his time supporting Westbury’s staff team and pastoring the church family.

Toby Williams
Toby works full-time for Emmanuel City Centre as student worker, leading the student work, supporting the student group leaders, discipling students and helping them live and speak for Jesus.

Steve is the Executive Assistant to Ed Shaw, our Ministry Director. He spreads his 1 day a week over Monday-Fridays.

Helen joins the trustees as Chair from September 2026. A nurse and academic by background, Helen has extensive experience of governance as a CEO, trustee and chair of several organisations.

Kathryn has been a Trustee since September 2025 and brings her skills and experience as a solicitor in the public sector to the role. In her spare time, she enjoys walking, singing and gardening.
