Small Groups

Church is a family.

Because church is a family, not a meeting, we spend regular time together to encourage and build each other up.

We enjoy fellowship together on Sundays and at an evening small group once a week on a Sunday or Monday.

Some women can’t attend an evening group, and so we also run a daytime Bible study called Wednesdays@10.

In our evening small groups, we discuss a Bible passage together, think about what it means for our lives, and pray for and practically care for one another.

Why meet as small groups?

We are passionate about small groups for two reasons: learning and community.
learning

Getting into the Bible in a smaller setting allows us to ask questions and consolidate things in a way that’s not possible on a Sunday morning.

It means we can delve into the passage, spending time studying the intricacies of the word, and thinking how God is calling us to live in light of that. We trust that his Spirit is at work as we carefully apply his words to our lives, and spur each other on to good works.

Our small group discussions are usually led by one of the group’s leaders.

community

We pray meeting in small groups over months or years will establish fruitful and meaningful relationships between brothers and sisters in Christ.

They mean we ‘walk alongside’ each other through all the ups and downs of life.

For this reason, we aim to put people in a group with others who live relatively near them to make it easier to foster friendships and community.
