Sundays

Join us on Sunday

We gather every week at the Emmanuel Meeting House.
Our meetings start at 4.30pm and have usually ended by about 5.45pm. Afterwards we share coffee, tea and home-made cakes.

We regularly share a church family meal together – usually followed by a Prayer & Praise or a time exploring some aspect of living for Jesus together.

BSL interpretation is provided on those Sundays marked “BSL” on the calendar.

Kids

For kids there is a crèche (0-2’s) and bible teaching and activities for 3-11’s, unless we’re having an All-Age church family meeting.

Students

During student term times, small groups for students run in the church building straight after our tea-time (from 6.30-8pm).

What to expect

What happens during a service?

We want our time together to reflect the good news of Jesus. So, we typically begin with a few songs and a moment of confession. There’s no obligation to join in. The children then go to their groups for about 45 minutes. Those remaining in the main hall hear a short section of the Bible read and then explained by the preacher. After that, we have a question-and-answer session, where those listening can ask the preacher questions about the talk. Questions are asked anonymously via Slido.

Children return at this point and then – together – we share news about what’s coming up in the next few weeks and sing a final song.

After the service ends, children often run around on the lawns outside whilst others catch up over a cup of tea or coffee.

You can either get in touch with us in advance by emailing us here admin@emmanuelbristol.org.uk or chat to anyone wearing a “Welcome” lanyard – they’ll be able to help you with your question or point you to someone who can.
